Put down the honey and maple syrup, that’s “yesterday’s” sandwich! These Fried Chicken Belgian Waffle Sliders with Bacon and Cheese are LOADED with wonderful flavors and even have a secret sauce that takes them right over the top! PERFECT game day food for the upcoming Super Bowl!!
These sliders. Were. THE BOMB. And yep. “WERE”. Sad to say they got DEMOLISHED! I was hoping they’d last longer! Ha!
So, if you’re searching the internet for some killer sliders and sandwiches to feed your friends for your upcoming Super Bowl party, you just landed on the right spot!!
These were over-the-top delicious, simple to make, with inexpensive ingredients (and nothing exotic that has you going from store to store to find!), that I KNOW your guests will absolutely love!
So, to get this started, we simply start with my homemade Copycat Chick-fil-A recipe that CANNOT be beat. The only change that I made was to add just a tad more garlic powder and cayenne for an extra kick, and I used boneless skinless chicken thighs (cut in half), instead of breast meat.
And since we’re TOTAL cheeseheads, you know that there was going to be some kind of cheese involved!
I wanted something unique for these, so I chose Cabot’s Tomato Basil Cheddar. And WOW was it ever good! Not overpowering, but added that little “something extra” that made them memorably special! HIGHLY recommend!!
Of course, I couldn’t just stop there, I mean, if I’m going in I’m going ALL in! So I whipped up a batch of one of our favorite, all-purpose, sandwich and fry sauces!
I crown thee, “Big Bang Boom Sauce”! Kind of like Ken’s Salad Dressings, but with more flavor and just a slight kick in the back! (I’ll do a separate post for it at a later date so that you can find it easier!) Because you’re going to want to use this on EVERYthing!
It also keeps well in the fridge in a jar, too!
So, once your chicken is fried and your sauce is made, you’re really almost done!
Just top your chicken pieces with lots of shredded cheese, and run them under the broiler to melt.
Toast your waffles, and while that’s going, slice some tomato, shred some lettuce…
…and warm up that bacon! Assemble it all together….
….finishing with those tomato slices and….
….more sauce on top….
…..and you’ve got yourself one heck of a hearty little sandwich!!
I mean, seriously. Just look at that!!! Wow, huh?!!
But as quickly as they were made….just like that…..*poof!*….they were gone!!!
So you might want to make sure that you have extra waffles and chicken on hand!!
So, when you gather all of your friends together at your house to watch the Super Bowl this year, keep this Fried Chicken Belgian Waffle Sliders with Bacon and Cheese recipe handy!
Because you’re definitely going to want to make these!!
Hope you all enjoy!! *And be sure to save this recipe to your Pinterest Boards for safe keeping!
