One of the most delicious burgers I have ever created, these Mango Pork Chili Cheese Burger Sliders are all ready to go just in time for the #SuperBowl! Spicy chili with chunks of fresh, sweet mango, and a secret ingredient that will blow your mind! These burgers are going to be the hit of the party, and soon to be one of your new favorites, too!
What a fun combination of ingredients for January’s Burger of the Month Club, organized by Kita of Girl Carnivore!
This month, as always, we were given 4 over-the-top ingredients to use to create original burger recipes!
And this month’s ingredients were PORK…
…AVOCADO,….MANGO,….and…..wait for it…..
…RED HOTS cinnamon candies!!!
How FUN, right?!!!!!! I really LOVED this one!!
My hubby had one request, though, and that was to please make the actual burgers out of beef. So, to incorporate pork into this month’s challenge, my mind went straight to chili!!
And since ground pork is almost just like hamburger really, I figured it would make a pretty tasty chili!! And that it did!!!
Once broken up and cooked, it really does look just like ground beef! See? And the fat content is the same as lean hamburger! (*See package above.)
I mean, after all, it IS “the other white meat”!
Cinnamon is something that I normally sneak into my chilies and barbecue sauces anyways, so I thought…why not just incorporate the Red Hots right into the chili!
I wanted to make sure that they melted fully, though, before adding, so I stirred them into some boiling water until they dissolved.
I also stirred in some Better Than Bouillon Beef Base, too, for extra flavor!
I added that first to the cooked pork, then stirred in the rest of the ingredients….
…adding the mango last!
Once cooked down, this is what it looks like! And MAN is it ever GOOD!!!
I admit to having a smaller than average appetite, always have, so I opted for slider buns…
…but you can certainly make them bigger and go for some nice brioche or pretzel buns if you’d like!
I also always like to add a little lettuce on the bottom of my burger sandwiches. This makes a nice little barrier between the burger and the bottom bun, and really helps that bottom bun from becoming a soggy, mushy mess!
On top of my burger patties, always goes some kind of good cheese!!! Gotta have cheese on a burger, I say!!
So I went for the GOOD STUFF, and added some pre-sliced Cabot Co-Jack!!
I melted 4 slices on top of these monster burgers….
……then piled on that INSANELY DELICIOUS mango pork chili!!
The fun didn’t stop there, either! I next added some thinly sliced Roma tomatoes…
….some red onion, and the last of January’s challenge ingredients, avocado!!
You wanna talk about a damn good burger!! JUST. WOW!!
Nothing too crazy-weird that it just isn’t even edible…..
…but with enough surprise ingredients that makes it one that you can’t put down and will never forget!
I mean….just look at that sucker, right?
And yes. It’s messy. But so what? If you don’t like to just get in there and go for it….grab a fork!
You might want a fork nearby anyways, because you’re not going to want a single bite to get away!
Thanks so much Kita, and Michelle who actually chose January’s ingredients! I really had a blast and these sliders absolutely ROCKED. OUT.
Even the hubs raved over them, and he normally only likes lettuce, tomato, and mayo on his burgers!!
I KNOW you all are going love these Mango Pork Chili Cheese Burger Sliders, too!! So, add these ingredients to your grocery list, and surprise all your friends tomorrow for your Super Bowl Party!!!
Enjoy, have fun, and may the best team win tomorrow!!

Mango Pork Chili Cheese Burger Sliders
Ingredients
For Mango Pork Chili:
- 1 1/2 lbs. ground pork (not sausage), cooked and finely chopped, drained if needed
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste, I prefer Hunt's
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1/2 tsp. Better Than Bouillon Beef Base
- 1 Tbl. cinnamon red hots candies
- 1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tbl. quality chili powder
- 1 Tbl. cumin
- 1/2 tsp. EACH: sweet smoked paprika, dark brown sugar, and balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 tsp. EACH: garlic powder, cayenne, coarse ground black pepper, smoked salt (can sub regular salt or part liquid smoke), (plus) regular table salt, crushed red pepper, creole seasoning such as Slap Ya Mama, and spicy creole mustard such as Zatarain's
- 1/2 cup more water
- 1 1/2 cups peeled, diced fresh ripe mango
Rest of Ingredients:
- 2 lbs. hamburger, formed into patties (any size desired), seasoned and cooked to doneness preferred
- sliced or shredded co-jack cheese
- fresh avocado slices
- hamburger or slider buns
Instructions
In large frying pan, brown ground pork, chopping up well as you go along. (Drain grease if necessary.)
In small bowl, microwave water until boiling, stir in red hots and beef bouillon base until candies and bouillon are fully dissolved. Add to cooked pork.
Add rest of Mango Pork Chili ingredients, and stir in well. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to Low, and simmer, stirring as needed, until very thick according to preference. (I take mine ALL the way down cooking out all of the water and it takes about 20 minutes.) Stir in mango and cook just a few minutes longer, gently stirring/folding. Remove from heat and set aside.
Cook burgers according to however you like. Panfried or grilled, and to desired doneness. Top with co-jack cheese slices, and melt.
Spread insides of buns with softened garlic butter and broil until toasted. (Optional, but good!)
Top bottom buns with lettuce, a cheese burger, then chili, then fresh avocado slices. Top with any other extra ingredients of choice if desired, such as finely chopped or thinly sliced red onion, pickled jalapeno rings, and/or thinly sliced tomato, etc.
Serve hot, and ENJOY!
Notes
If you don't have smoked salt, just use all regular salt (both amounts), and you can even add a 1/4 tsp. liquid smoke in addition if you happen to have that instead.
