A fried chicken sandwich that’s a cut above the rest with a sweet and spicy glaze, homemade Ranch Salad Dressing, and blue cheese crumbles, all on top of a bed of shredded lettuce on a soft, warm kaiser roll! Chicken sandwich perfection!
This sandwich came about when I made my hubby my version of a Copycat Spicy Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich! And although it already had a nice kick of heat and spice, I wanted more! So I decided to give mine an extra kick of heat!
I don’t often get the chance to enjoy blue cheese, (it literally makes my hubby gag!), but I had a little on hand in the freezer and definitely wanted to trade it out for the pepper jack! Honey, blue cheese, and sriracha are a match made in heaven!
So, you just simply coat the butterflied chicken breast with my spicy seasoning, double coating, giving it a dip in an egg bath in between.
Then fry it well on both sides…..
….with a tight-fitting lid on during the middle time. *This ensures that the chicken gets done all the way through without the outside getting overly browned. (It also makes the chicken super tender and juicy!)
So be sure to check out my recipe and start with this! Isn’t it gorgeous??!! I just love to fry!
While the chicken rests, mix up your 3-ingredient glaze, microwaving it and stirring it well, and set that aside. It will need to cool a little to thicken so that it doesn’t just run off of your sandwich!
While that rests, top your bottom bun, toasted or untoasted, with a nice handful of finely shredded lettuce.
*You can also add a little tomato and red onion if you’d like, but I skipped all that this time! (*I only had a little, and decided to save it for the next adventure coming soon!)
Now you’re ready to lay that sauce on! Don’t skimp with it, really get it on there, both sides, and coat the chicken heavily! It’s so good that you’re going to want to use every drop!
Now. You could certainly stop right here if you wanted to. But, I decided to really go for it…
…and finished it off with a drizzle of my Best Homemade Ranch Dressing…
…and blue cheese crumbles! (*Be sure to thin the dressing to your liking.)
And what a FANTASTIC sandwich THIS turned out to be!!! Omg…..SO good!!!
The fun didn’t stop there, either!! It was a very bad day, so I had a little extra fun and made my WTF – White Trash Fries to go alongside!
Needless to say, I was only able to inhale half of my sandwich and fries! But I gave it one heck of an effort!
I admit, I was never that in to chicken sandwiches, but I swear I could eat this at least twice a month and never tire of it!
Tender, juicy, spicy fried chicken, glazed with more heat and a little sweet, all decked out on a kaiser roll with crisp, shredded iceberg lettuce! OH, yeah. Come to mama!!
If you’re a chicken sandwich lover, or even if you aren’t, I think you’re going to really LOVE this Spicy Honey Sriracha Glazed Fried Chicken Sandwich just as much as I did! I think it’s my new favorite, go-to, chicken sandwich! Hope you all enjoy!!
