A little bit tangy, a little bit sweet, this honey-mustard sauce with a touch of bbq has the perfect balance to dunk almost anything! Use as a spread for chicken sandwiches or burgers, or dunk your favorites from fries to chicken nuggets to corndogs, or even drizzle on your salad! SUPER simple to make with items you already have, and absolutely, deliciously addictive!
Missing your favorites and want to stick close to home during the pandemic? GOOD. VERY good to hear! There’s just no need to travel right now for non-essentials, even if it’s just across town.
Until the experts can develop a vaccine, and our country follows their advice and gets this virus under control, as most other countries have done, we need to just bunker down and stay safe.
Take it from someone who knows. I had it. And it’s worse than you can possibly imagine.
I’m lucky to be here and have never EVER taken anything for granted. Especially life itself. So let’s get ‘er done, and kick this virus to the curb!!
Since we don’t have a Chick-fil-A anywhere even near us here since moving, and though I have only had their sauce once several years ago, I was STILL craving it. Especially after making my very own Copycat Chick-fil-A Nuggets that go perfectly with them!
What to do? Just make it myself!! And you can too with just a few ingredients that you probably already have on hand!!
I have made this twice now, and I VERY much liked my second version better than the first. The first attempt was a bit too sweet, and had no OOMPFFH to it at all.
It also had just a wee bit too much barbecue sauce in it for my hubby’s taste. (He’s not real big on too much bbq flavor.)
*And BTW, don’t use a honey-flavored barbecue sauce, as it will definitely end up way too sweet!
So after a bit of adjusting, and adding a little more lemon juice (which he loves!), and a little less bbq sauce, I ended up with a REALLY good sauce!!!
I wouldn’t change a thing myself now!! (*Unless I sneak in just a TAD more bbq sauce just for me!)
But seriously, it was some DANG good sauce just as it was!!
And not so thick that you can’t pour it right into a squeeze bottle, either.
I really LOVE these plastic bottles! You can just squirt however much you need right into a small finger bowl for dunking, or use them to easily drizzle whatever you make like a pro, right across just about anything!
And there aren’t any chunks of anything in this sauce, so you don’t even need to trim off the nozzle to make the hole larger. It’s fine just the way it is.
And, as I have said above, it goes with almost everything you can think of!!
From french fries and fried potato wedges…..
…to, of course, my Copycat Chick-fil-A Nuggets….
…that wouldn’t be the same without it!!
This sauce also goes extremely well with my Copycat Grilled Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich, too, though!
As well as my Copycat Spicy Chicken Sandwich version!!
But the ultimate…is to just GO FOR IT and make my full-blown, copycat, original chicken breast sandwich.
I mean, why fuss with the little stuff, right?
Make what you’re craving for supper right at home tonight!
Chicken nuggets and finger foods for the kiddos, and the to-die-for sandwiches for us big kids!
Everyone ends up happy!
From distant memory, and still a little brain fog going on from having the COVID-19 coronavirus for almost 3 months, I can’t say if this is exact or not.
But! I CAN tell you that it’s just plain awesomely delicious!!
We have been using it on EVERYTHING, and have gone though 2 batches! (*One was a DOUBLE batch and we’re already almost out AGAIN!)
So, if you’re craving some of your favorite fast foods, and keeping close to home to make sure yourself and your family and friends safe, it’s not hard to make all of this right in your very own kitchen. Just take your time, have fun, and know that if we all work hard to kick this nasty, deadly, viruses’ butt, we’ll get through this together!
Hope you all enjoy!! Take care, stay safe, wear that mask, and keep a responsible distance. We’ll get through this together!!
