When you want something a little more than just turkey, white bread, and Miracle Whip, this California-Style Roast Turkey Sandwich on Sourdough Bread really hits the spot! Layers and layers of goodies finished off with my homemade Creamy Honey-Mustard Salad Dressing! Not your Joe-average leftover sandwich!
Oooooh, those Thanksgiving leftovers! Especially a mile-high, Dagwood-style, turkey sandwich!
When a super simple sandwich just won’t do, (especially after day three of leftovers!), go for the gusto and make a masterpiece! Something that you’d pay an arm and a leg for at your local bistro-style restaurant, that costs pennies to make right at home!
The first thing that you’ll need to do, is to make a batch of my Creamy Honey Mustard Salad Dressing. You can make a small batch if you’d like, but I just make the whole recipe for salads after stuffing my face for days on end with all of those rich, calorie-laden Thanksgiving leftovers!
This salad dressing and dip is SO GOOD, that it actually makes nice gifts, and not only goes well with turkey, but ham, roast beef, and a dip for veggies and fries, too!
So, slice up some of that leftover turkey, (and ham if you’ve got that, too!)…
….and create a sandwich that makes those leftovers proud!
(*If you need a fantastic turkey recipe, click {HERE} for mine! BONUS!: Make-ahead directions included!)
I went with lettuce, tomato, turkey, havarti cheese, avocado, and peppered bacon on sourdough bread!
But you can also add thinly sliced red onion and cucumbers, alfalfa sprouts, or even pickles!
So, if you’re a tad bored with the same old leftover turkey sandwich by now, doll it up a bit and make this California-Style Roast Turkey Sandwich on Sourdough Bread! A masterpiece that even Dagwood Bumstead himself would envy!
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Enjoy!
