Get to Know Imperial Sugar!
“In 1843, along the banks of Oyster Creek in what would later become the company town of Sugar Land, the Williams brothers built a mule-powered sugar mill, began grinding sugar cane, and a Texas legacy was born. For over 175 years, Imperial Sugar has been a trusted name in family kitchens all across the south. Sweet things happen when people come together in the kitchen, and that’s why Imperial Sugar has been at the heart of family traditions and celebrations for generations. We’re the secret ingredient in family-favorite recipes handed down from one generation to another. Home cooks know that when you bake with love and Imperial Sugar, that’s when memories are made. Imperial Sugar provides high-quality sugar and sweetener products and over 100 years of time-tested recipes. Our family of products includes granulated sugar, light and dark brown sugar, free-flowing sugar, powdered sugar, sugar shakers and Steviacane® (Stevia + sugar blend). Imperial Sugar products are 100% pure cane sugar, non-GMO and provide consistently delicious results.”
So, are we ready to make this devilishly delicious, and wickedly awesome, white chocolate treat? Now THAT’S a show of hands!! Okay, okay, hold your broomsticks, it’s coming now!
Just gather all of your ingredients and have them ready to go. Then, grab a saucepan, (rounded bottom ones work the easiest), and add the heavy cream, milk, powdered sugar, just a teensy bit of salt, and the chocolate chips. Heat just to barely a simmer over medium to medium-low heat, but not boiling, stirring gently and constantly. Just get it nice and hot enough that it melts the chocolate chips.
Remove from the heat, and add the rest of the ingredients, (the liqueurs and the vanilla), and stir to mix in well.
Then just pour into small glasses, or several big ones with TWO straws in each to share…
…top with whipped cream and a truffle, dust with a little cocoa powder and cinnamon…
…and be prepared for one of the most decadent hot chocolates you’ve ever tasted!!
Omg… Just. OHMYGAWD.
Fair warning, this IS really rich. So you’ll want to pour this into small glasses, or do like we did, and share on “date night in”!
You can also add less heavy cream and more milk if your prefer, and you can also adjust the liqueur. But, it will lose the whole “truffle” taste-affect, though. So, this part is all up to you.
And, just remember, girls. Be safe! Don’t drink and fly!
Many thanks to Allison and all the elves that work so very hard every year to put on this incredible event! And many thanks to the wonderful sponsors that donate such fantastic prizes, and to those who provide us bloggers with product to work with! So much appreciated, everyone!

- white chocolate truffles, for garnish, optional
- dutch-processed cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions
In a saucepan over medium heat, add cream, milk, salt, powdered sugar, and chocolate chips. Heat over medium heat, stirring and scraping chips from bottom of pan, until hot but not boiling and chocolate chips have fully melted.
Remove from heat and stir in liqueur and vanilla. Pour into small glasses or mugs. Top each with whipped cream and a white chocolate truffle. Lightly dust tops with cocoa powder and cinnamon.
Notes
Liqueur can be omitted for non-alcoholic.
