What a difference a day makes! The cruel heatwave has finally ended! First thing I did was practically run through the house and open all of the doors and windows! A cool breeze is now flowing throughout, it’s a little dark and almost chilly, all my little “pretty lights” are on, and the entire house still smells like fresh, brewed coffee! Off in the distance, someone is frying bacon. I can just catch a small, teasing whiff of it now and then. Is there anything better than the sounds and smells of fresh coffee brewing and sizzling bacon in the morning? Throw in a little buttered toast and that long-awaited “pop” of the toaster and I’ll face-plant my keyboard! It’s funny how the simplest things can smell soooo amazingly wonderful! The aromas are so intense, every time is like the very first time you’ve ever smelled it! Well, no bacon or toast for me this morning, I decided to just drink my breakfast! I made one of my favorite, sweet and creamy concoctions that just happens to taste just like a brown sugar coffee cake! It’s heavenly nectar from the breakfast gods all silky smooth, rich and so delicious it should come with a warning label! I’ll pre-warn you, though, it is very sweet. I’ve tried cutting back on the sweet elements, but then it lost that “coffee cake” taste. So if you don’t mind a sweet treat for breakfast now and then, you’ll fall in love with this one! It’s so amazingly good, it could easily replace dessert and serve as both for an after dinner coffee at a dinner party. We order all of our coffee supplies right online from DaVinci, Torani and sometimes Godiva just depending on who has the best prices and sales. For the coffee syrups, Torani has quite an extensive list to choose from! And they all have all of the extra pieces you’ll need, too. (Pumps, etc. for the chocolate and caramel sauces.) So if you love cappuccinos like we do, and are tired of paying outrageous prices for them, I highly recommend biting the bullet and investing in a good coffee/espresso machine. One of the BEST investments we’ve ever made! And after calculating what we were spending before, it has long ago paid itself off not only in what we have saved, but paid us back in endless homemade concoctions that even the best coffee houses can’t provide! So, kick back, relax and enjoy! Have a wonderful day all!
