The “Slipper Tub” Caramel~Coffee Cocktail

the slipper tub cocktail

Ever just have one of “those days” where you think, I never should’ve gotten out of bed and if one single more thing happens, I’m gonna need bail money and an alibi? Put down the meat clever, and, now, put down the phonebook. Seriously, they aren’t worth the 20 dollar rental fee for the wood chipper, either. 😉 Then there’s all that mess to clean up. Yuck. All kidding aside, trust me, this cocktail is a much better solution! Besides, “orange” is NOT the new “pink”. Ugh.

Anyways, I’ve had a few of “those days” lately, and this was just what I needed! Remember that old commercial, “Calgon! Take me away!”? Well, this will take you far, far away, transport you to a tranquil spa, heavenly blissful, where all your frustrations melt away…and a nice candlelit bubble bath doesn’t hurt, either! 😉

A creamy, dreamy, buttery caramel~coffee cocktail to soothe the head and mend the heart. Then let all of your troubles swirl down the drain with the last of the bubbles. Not only will you feel better and relaxed, but you’ll have a little bit of extra energy to tackle whatever happens to come next! Hopefully, that will be nothing more than an old sock gone MIA in the dryer! 😉

It’s a nice after-dinner drink to enjoy out on the deck, porch or patio in the evening, too. You can also make more coffee and pour the extra into ice cube trays and freeze them to add to your drink so it doesn’t get all watered down.  A nice way to use up the last of the morning pot. And the extra whipped cream and caramel sauce on top…oh, myyyy….need I say more?  So give yourself a royal home spa treatment, you deserve it, we are not “Wonder Woman”, and we do break. Take a long hot bath, and remember, tomorrow’s a new day. 😉

THE “SLIPPER TUB” CARAMEL~COFFEE COCKTAIL

Makes 1 large or 2 smaller cocktails

4 oz. (1/2 cup) strong-brewed coffee, chilled

2-3 Tbl. caramel sauce, or to taste for sweetness

1/2 tsp. vanilla

1 oz. Amarula Liqueur

1 oz. Buttershots, I use DeKuyper’s

2 oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream

2 oz. milk

ice cubes, or “coffee cubes”

whipped cream to top

1 Tbl. more caramel sauce to drizzle

Directions:

Brew 4 oz. strong coffee (1/2 cup), stir in caramel sauce to taste for sweetness until melted, set in fridge to chill. You can speed this up and pop it into the freezer, but don’t let it freeze. Add rest of ingredients, stir, and pour over frozen cubes of ice or coffee in large glass or 2 smaller glasses. Top with whipped cream and drizzle with more caramel sauce.
