Spiced Apple Maple Mustard Barbecue Sauce

Sharing is caring!

This sauce was… wait, …. ok, …. turn around, …. and don’t look!!

SHOT-worthy!!  Because you could easily just DRINK IT.

Not kidding!!

Nicely spiced, not too sweet/not too tart, and perfect for fall grilling and cooking!

I had SO much fun making it, but, wow. The results had me thinking,…if only I could bottle this stuff…!!

I’ve had a lot of fun over the years making homemade, as well as “semi-homemade”, barbecue sauces, that I wish I had my very own collection that I could just grab a bottle of!

Just glad I learned to write everything down as I go along. There have been a few things that I’ve made in my lifetime that I’d give anything to know what in the heck I added!!

Ever done that, too?

Make something phenomenal, best you ever made it, then do a forehead slap when you realize you forgot to write it down?

I know the pain.

But this is one that didn’t get away!!

All of the warm flavors of fall that went perfectly with my latest smoked pulled pork, but would also be wonderful on chicken, wings, pork chops, baby back ribs, pulled pork, even brats!

Dark brown sugar, maple, apple, mustard and warm spices provide the sauce with a perfect balance of sweet-tartness, and finishes off with just a little needed kick of heat!

A thick, rich sauce, that will stick to the meat flavoring it beautifully!

A sauce that won’t run off into your grill or all over your pan (or shirt!) And any extra sauce is perfect for dipping and dunking!

This comes together quickly, too! Just dump all of your ingredients into a saucepan, whisk to mix, simmer for 15 minutes to reduce and thicken….

…and that’s all there is to it! DONE.

This was one amazingly delicious sauce, that I so hope that you’ll try soon, and enjoy as much as we did! (This is sure to be one that I’ll make over and over, and I’m betting that you will, too!!)

*Be sure to sign up to subscribe to my blog to see what I made to go with this sauce! I’ll be sharing that one next!! You don’t want to miss it! These were AMAZING.

Enjoy the last of the warm, sunny days of summer, and the beginning of fall everybody! Take care and have a wonderful day!
