Amaretto Cappuccino

Sharing is caring!

Amaretto Cappuccino

After spending throwing away probably what amounted to hundreds of dollars a year on Starbuck’s, my hubby and I invested in a high-end coffee/cappuccino machine that has long since paid itself off! It’s been probably 8 years or more since we’ve handed over ungodly amounts of money for a fancy cappuccino. If you’re like us, and love great coffee drinks, I highly recommend that you, too, consider just biting the bullet, take the plunge, and invest in a good machine! They’re really fun, and the better ones, like what we ended up getting, can produce a froth as good as any barista! You’ll be a pro at it in NO time!

A nice cappuccino isn’t just for breakfast, either! They can be an afternoon pick-me-up, and some, such as my Amaretto Cappuccino, are so delicious, that they can actually be an after-dinner dessert!

I’ve made dozens of cappuccino coffees and cocktail concoctions, so I thought that it was way past time that I started sharing some of our favorites! And this almond-flavored one is at the top of the list! (A great place to start because it’s one of the easiest, too!) Amaretto is a very smooth and mellow, almond-flavored liqueur, that’s one of our favorites, and pairs with coffee extremely well! Who doesn’t love a nice nutty, almond flavor blended into coffee?

This is one of the simpler ones that I make that you can sweeten, or not, to your own preference. I’m terrible, and prefer mine on the sweet side! So I always add sugar to the cup while the liquid is hot, and stir it in briskly until it melts. But if you enjoy unsweetened, you don’t have to add any at all of course. You can also use dietary sweeteners if that’s your thing.

The amount of liqueur is completely up to you as well. Take a little sip before topping with your froth, and add the liqueur to suit your own taste.

Lastly, my little secret to a rich and creamy cappuccino, is to fold a little froth into the cappuccino before topping it with the rest! It really makes it extra special!! Richer, and just dreamy creamy!

Topping it with whipped cream is another option that’s completely at your own discretion. I admit, most of the time I do add some. It’s a treat, and I like to enjoy it that way!

Amaretto Cappuccino!

So start planning now to set aside a little each month, and by Christmastime or sooner, you should be able to budget a nice one. Do your homework on them, be sure to get a good one, and you can be making these at home from now on! They’re so easy to make!! And believe me, it really WILL pay itself off in NO time if you’re a huge fan of specialty coffee drinks like us, too! Enjoy!!
