Brrrrrrrrr! Baby it’s cold outside! Well, not cold-cold, but after a heatwave, waking up to 58 degrees felt like it was freezing! Going to be a beautiful day, sunny, and the heatwave finally moved on! A normal mid to upper 70’s kind of day! My kind of weather! And what better way to start the day than with a cappuccino, of course?! One of the best investments my hubby and I ever made! After calculating what we were spending at S-bucks, it didn’t take long for the machine to pay itself off! (Kind of ironic that we bought it at S-bucks, too!) The drinks are so easy to make, a fraction of the cost at any coffee bar, and look just as pretty as any barista can make! Well, almost. I haven’t tried to make any of the fancy designs on top yet! But I think I’ll play around with that next! We’ve had ours for about 5 years now, and have made about every concoction under the Tuscan sun! Some without a little “somethin’ somethin’ ” , and some with! 😉 Nothing wrong with adding a bit of a nice liqueur to a coffee drink, even in the morning I say! 😉 They didn’t ask me when they made up all the “rules”. I say enjoy every single day as if it were your last. Because you just never know. I don’t want to be on my deathbed saying, “I wish I had done…”. I want to say, “I’m so glad I did!” What is “the secret to life”? Life’s experiences. So enjoy life to it’s fullest!
And you will definitely enjoy this cappuccino to it’s fullest! This one is not only made with creamy white chocolate and rich caramel sauce, but with one of my favorite liqueurs, Amarula. Amarula is a cream liqueur from South Africa that is made from the fruit of the African marula tree, also called “elephant tree” or “marriage tree”, and has a slightly fruity, vanilla-caramel flavor that is to die for! As soon as you open the bottle, you know you’re in for a real treat! Combined with the full-bodied flavor of espresso, it’s a match made in heaven! The elephants love it, and the monkeys eat it until they fall out of the trees! So I guess I’m a naughty little monkey, too! 😉 So c’mon and join me! But no falling out of the trees! It’s a lot farther down than it used to be!
WHITE CHOCOLATE CARAMEL AMARULA CAPPUCCINO
Makes 1 – 8 oz. serving
1 oz. brewed espresso
1 oz. caramel sauce
1 oz. white chocolate sauce
1 1/2 oz. Amarula Cream Liqueur
3 1/2 oz. steamed milk, scant
2 Tbl. stiff milk froth
whipped cream topping, optional
Directions:
Steam and froth milk, set aside.
Brew one shot of espresso and pour into 8 ounce cup/glass.
Add white chocolate and caramel sauce, Amarula liqueur, and stir well.
Fill glass rest of way with steamed milk almost to rim. Stir.
Fold in 2 Tbl. froth.
Top with whipped cream if desired.
